Major Price cuts across BMWs M3 and M4 range amid equipment gains and detail tweaks.

Without mucking around , BMW has slashed prices across its M3 and M4 performance models as the brand new Mercedes-AMG C63 muscles in on its territory.

The M3 sedan now starts at $139,900, down from $156,430 and now less than the $154,510 twin-turbo V8-powered AMG sedan , making it exceptionally great value.

In addition to the price drop, the M3 now also comes with more standard equipment and gets subtle styling revisions in line with the recently revealed 3 Series facelift.

New features include a tyre pressure monitoring system, head-up display, lane departure warning, adaptive LED headlights, Internet connectivity and full Merino leather on the dashboard and glove box.

Styling changes are limited to revised head and taillights from the updated 3 Series range.

BMW has also dropped the price of the M4 coupe and convertible models with the fixed-roof model now starting at $149,900 – down from $166,430.

The drop-top M4 Convertible receives the most extreme price drop and is now priced from $161,900, down from $178,430.

As before, the M3 and M4 models are powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six pumping out 317kW and 550Nm, which is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch auto or six-speed manual transmission.

With the auto ‘box, the fixed-roof models sprint to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds while the convertible takes 4.4 seconds.

All models are rear-wheel drive only, and drive is controlled through an electronic limited slip differential.
